Clinical Workforce Development Initiative
Scheduled conference calls designed to (1) increase clinical staff members’ capacity to become “gambling informed”; and (2) assist in meeting criteria to earn Board Approved Clinical Consultant (BACC) hours towards statewide and international gambling certifications. Calls are structured with a Learning Community format which encourages and enables participant involvement and capacity building. This initiative is facilitated by Behavioral Health Program Manager, Fiorigio (Fred) Fetta.
Participants are encouraged to enroll by emailing Fiorigio.email@example.com to be included in membership list. Call coordinates and topic are forwarded upon enrollment and prior to each call.
Case Consultation Conference Call
A gambling-related clinical case is presented as pre-arranged with call facilitator. Cases include: problem gamblers, clients who meet criteria for Gambling Disorder, clients who meet criteria for Gambling Disorder along with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, and persons affected by gambling (i.e. family members, spouse, and significant other). Clinical staff participating in these calls in support of their BAAC hours have the opportunity to present a case for the group, or, if they are not working with a client with co-occurring problem or disordered gambling, they will be asked to provide treatment recommendations on a case presented by the clinical director.
