2025-2026 Multicultural Problem Gambling Prevention Program

The Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling in partnership with the CT State Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services-Problem Gambling Services (DMHAS PGS) is seeking applications from five non-profit organizations to participate in the 2025-2026 Multicultural Problem Gambling Prevention Program.

The program aims to support cultural communities at higher risk of experiencing gamblingrelated harm, such as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), Asian Americans, LGBTQIA+ individuals, veterans, and Latino/Latina/Latine populations. Selected organizations will receive funding to design culturally adapted prevention activities, host community conversations, increase access to translated materials, promote and disseminate “Know the Risks” campaign, and build community capacity through the establishment of gambling awareness committees. CCPG will offer technical assistance, training, resources, and support.

The grant period runs from August 4, 2025, to June 30, 2026, with the opportunity to reapply for the following year (June 30, 2026- July 1, 2027). Applications must be received by July 28, 2025, with notifications of awards by August 4, 2025.

2024-2025 Gambling Community Survey

The Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, Problem Gambling Services (PGS) would appreciate your assistance with this community survey on Gambling Behaviors in the Community. This information will help PGS understand the need for raising awareness about problem gambling in the public and the need for more education. Within this survey, there is also a series of questions that will give you an idea of whether you should consider your own level of gambling participation. All you need to do is complete this short questionnaire, which should take approximately 5 minutes. Responses will be completely anonymous; your name will not appear anywhere on the survey.

Gambling Education Resource Van!

The Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services partnered with MCCA to bring a new mobile resource van to Connecticut.  The goal is to provide gambling education and resources to the public on prevention, treatment, recovery support services, and the voluntary self-exclusion portal.  The van is available to attend trainings, events, health fairs, and other community gatherings across the state.
