New Opportunity for Creatives in Eastern Connecticut!

Application open for individual artists, creative businesses, and 501c(3) organizations to apply to the Problem Gambling Through the Arts Initiative, which aims to increase awareness of problem gambling by using art to engage with specific populations including Black, Latino/a, Indigenous, Asian American and Pacific Islanders cultural communities, or within the LGBTQIA+ or Veteran communities. Gambling Education Resource Van!

The Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services is excited to partner with MCCA to bring a new mobile resource van to Connecticut.  The goal of the van is to provide gambling education and resources to the public on prevention, treatment, recovery support services, and the voluntary self-exclusion portal.  The van is available to attend trainings, events, health fairs, and other community gatherings across the state.  To schedule the resource van, visit www.responsibleplayct.org and click on Request the Resource Van.

Who We Are

Our goal is to raise awareness to understand and address problem gambling by:

  • Integrating gambling awareness into all prevention programs in the region across the lifespan
  • Gathering region-specific community awareness and readiness data
  • Providing gambling-specific educational presentations and trainings
  • Engaging youth in the implementation of peer-to-peer education that addresses gambling awareness
